when I dip, you dip, we dip

OK, anyone who didn’t get my reference to “da dip” by Freak Nasty, is missing a really good play on words.

Anyways, that’s irrelevant and so is Freak Nasty.

As far appetizers or snacks go, I’m obsessed with dips! These are a few of my absolute favs. They are easy, quick and always a WIN.

Buffalo Chicken Dip –The best thing about this dip is you can alter it for your audience. Go easy on the hot sauce for kids, or add blue cheese for a more sophisticated pallet. You really can NOT mess this up.

2- cups shredded chicken – (you can use canned chunk chicken as well)

8 oz package of cream cheese (softened)

1/2 cup of Ranch dressing

1/3 cup hot sauce (I use Pete’s)

Shredded cheese (as much or as little as you like)

Throw everything, except the shredded cheese, in a crock pot, mix until it is all melted together. Once it is nice and melty, add your shredded cheese, stir, put crock pot on “warm” for a few and serve.

  • For spicier dip add more hot sauce or a few jalapenos.
  • 1/3 cup of blue cheese dressing or blue cheese crumbles can be added.
  • I use 2 large cans of chunk chicken and add an extra ½ cup of ranch for larger servings.
  • This dip travels well. Throw the finished product in a baking dish, sprinkle cheese on top, and cover. When you get where you are going heat it up -350 until hot.

Spinach Artichoke Dip-

Love, love, love this dip.

1 -14 oz. can or jar of artichokes (drained and chopped)

Box frozen spinach (thawed and drained).

1 – Cup mayonnaise

1- Cup parmesan cheese (grated).

Salt & Pepper to taste.

Bake at 350 for 15-30 mins.

I also mix in about a handful of shredded Parmesan cheese, and sprinkle another handful on top. That’s totally optional, I just happen to love cheese.

Onion Dip-

Ok, it’s confession time. People go crazy for this dip, and ask me how to make it every single time I serve it. So here is the top secret onion dip recipe.

  • Turn the box over and follow the dip recipe.
  • Leave it in the fridge overnight.
  • Give it a good mix, and replace that gross grocery store dip that came with your veggie platter.
