Well two full months after the wedding, I am back at it again. No, not another wedding, trust me, never again! Another party though, actually two parties. One baby shower for my sweet Heather, and one christening reception for my youngest daughter. The baby shower has lots of surprises, so I’ll share that on a separate post later.
If you have ever planned a religious party of any sort you know the struggle is real. It’s not like Party City is just bursting with “Holy” decorations. There are a few cross shaped Mylar balloons and some “God bless this baby” paper plates. Both of these things could be a wonderful asset to your baptism party, but not mine. I have nothing against eating cupcakes with a mini Virgin Mary stuck to the top, it’s just not the look I’m going for.
O’s baptism was two summers ago. We rented a white tent and hosted a nice outside reception in my Grandmother’s backyard. Here are some photo’s.
This dress was on sale at Macy’s- $30.00. I made her little hairpiece myself -$5.00
Yep, baby O jumped right in the Holy Water. Thank Jesus it was a private ceremony.
My Mom made that cute little towel (on my arm) with some lace, a cross patch and a basic white hand towel.
This cake though…

I bought these knit shoes on Etsy.com. I paid a fortune, she wore them once. Not sorry at all. #sorrynotsorry

This is one of my favorite pictures ever. O with her Godmothers.
We had such a nice day! That was in July, so chances for good weather were high, even in the mid-west. This time around it will be September, so my sweet cousin Jackie was kind enough to offer up her house. Kind or crazy? I don’t know, but I am stoked to have her help! Here is my idea board.
As you can see, 1 idea board means I still have lots to do. So I’m going to get to work. I’ll follow up in a few weeks. In the meantime, share your Holy party ideas with me and God Bless.
Love the baptism photos. You really put together a special occasion.
