Hey ladies,
I am so sick of this cold ass weather I could die. I’m done buying sweaters for the year, moving on. So I’ve been scouring around, looking at what’s coming this spring. The 90’s are back in a BIG way you guys. Every single one of these looks could be found in any re-run of Saved by the Bell. I’m dying to hear what you are excited to see is back. I also want to hear which of these is making you cringe.
Let’s start with…
Alright you guys. I can’t even tell you how excited I am to write this post. I have found the needle in the haystack here!!! Lots of my readers write to me about clothes and fashion. As a former stylist and a lifetime fashionista, this should be an easy topic for me. Let me tell you, it has been a struggle. After having my second daughter, I could not get my mom swag back. My husband, actually begged me to buy clothes. He took me to one of the best malls in America and insisted I spend money. Are you freakin’ kidding me? I came out with like one pair of shoes and a makeup pallet. Ironically, that is the day my sweet friend hooked me up with my fashion soul mate.
This is not a surprise outfit in a box. I don’t like surprises. This is not a monthly commitment, I don’t like that either. Allume is an actual person, who acts as your personal stylist. This is not a bunch of junk emails. This is an actual human being, who says “hey, when can we chat?” I filled out a brief survey about my lifestyle, and what I prefer to pay for what I wear. This survey is different than other “styling companies” because it lets you break down your look. For example; ya’ll know I drop money on shoes and bags, but refuse to pay more than $20 for a top. That’s just me, I wear an Old Navy shirt and carry a Louis Vuitton bag. Everyone is different and that’s why I love Allume.
A day later I get a text from a woman named Meghan, saying she will be my stylist. She asked me some simple questions and sent me some photos, asking how I felt about the images. I gave Meghan a quick rundown about my day to day life. I told her I like blazers and ballet flats and animal print is considered a neutral for me. I wear a ton of black, I’m a stay at home mom and a writer. We went over a few more looks and the next day she nailed it. These are the first set of looks she sent me.
In my opinion, one of the biggest struggles during pregnancy is what to wear. I personally HATED maternity clothes. Just because I’m knocked up doesn’t mean I want to wear ugly floral prints. I want to wear the same things I normally would. So, here’s the deal. Skip the mall. Those stores are expensive and they totally take advantage of how small every store’s maternity section is. I didn’t learn any of this stuff until I was almost through my second pregnancy, but here’s the deal.
I’ve been working on de-cluttering and organizing my life for the past few months. All the while singing the praise of my magical book. If you have had contact with me in the past 6 weeks or so, you’re probably sick to death of hearing about it. I don’t even care, I’m going to keep talking about it. The book has changed my life. Get the book!
I defiantly want to talk to you guys about my journey and how this book has changed my life. First, I want to show you results. This whole concept seemed so unrealistic to me, I actually became physically ill when asked to remove every last thing from my closet. The KonMari method starts with clothing. Probably because it is the least sentimental for most. Not me! My closet is my soul. Dressing myself, dressing others, it’s a part of who I am. The clothes that I keep just because they were gifts from buyers or designers. I earned them for doing my job well, just like a paycheck on a hanger baby. The picture is simple, it’s me on the floor of my walk in. An empty bottle of chardonnay in one hand, a vintage Vera Wang in the other. OK, it obvious I have real issues, but let’s move on to the before pictures.

Obviously, my blog is usually geared toward women, but not today. Today, I want to help the male species give good gifts (say that 3 times fast).
Men; giving your significant other a thoughtful is crucial to your happiness. I’m talking less bitching, more football, pass on forgetting the garbage, possibly even sex. Ya’ll need to get your gift game tight. OK?
I’ve wanted to do this post forever and I just never get it done. So today is the day. These are some of my favorite old faithfuls and some of my new favs as well. I’m going to start with one of my favorite inventions EVER.
Moving on… my new favorite thing to do after my kids go to bed is watch YouTube videos on hair and makeup. I used to read tutorials just for ideas and inspiration, but this is so much easier. I mean who the hell has the energy to read after you take care of kids all day. God, give me strength!!!
